Key Responsibilities\n

• Conducting thorough preliminary assessments through interviews, and documenting client progress from initial consultation to treatment completion.

• Evaluating clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health to inform effective treatment planning.
\n
• Developing personalized recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and various age groups.
\n
• Facilitating dynamic individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating different therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing.
\n
• Monitoring clients' progress regularly and adjusting treatment plans based on feedback and observable improvements.
\n
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, nursing staff, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
\n
• Coordinating care through referrals to specialists and following up with clients post-hospitalization to support continuity of care.
\n
• Identifying and proactively addressing behaviors that hinder recovery, ensuring optimal support for each client on their mental health journey.

• Providing support and resources to family members and primary caregivers facing mental health-related challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Touchstone Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, and adults facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. You will employ culturally sensitive practices to ensure all clients feel valued and supported, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual or family unit.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong competency in conducting therapy and facilitating discussions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor, ideally in an outpatient or community-based setting.

• Proficient with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to streamline client management and documentation.

• Experience addressing co-occurring disorders, including substance use and mental health illnesses.

• Familiarity with the pharmacology of medications prescribed to support mental health treatment.

• A deep understanding of best practices from leading industry organizations such as AMHCA.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
