The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. Work Environment\n

Our work environment is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a collaborative team atmosphere. Our practice operates from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments that delve into clients’ trauma histories, determining appropriate therapeutic approaches for each individual.

• Design and implement personalized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, resilience building, and skill development.

• Utilize validated therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their trauma, enhance coping strategies, and encourage personal growth.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and integrated care for our clients.

• Provide crisis intervention for clients in trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate support and stability.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma, fostering understanding and resilience through effective coping strategies.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient progress, ensuring adherence to all relevant ethical and legal standards.

• Engage actively in team consultations, meetings, and professional development to advance your skills in trauma-informed care.

• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in trauma treatments, contributing to the enhancement of service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary clientele includes individuals who have encountered various forms of trauma, including abuse, neglect, and acute stress reactions, as well as those facing challenges related to PTSD and complex trauma. By focusing on evidence-based, trauma-informed care, our clinical team aims to provide clients with the support and strategies needed for effective healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctorate degree in a relevant field such as social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist.
\n
• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed therapy techniques.
\n
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, showcasing compassion and nonjudgmental support for clients.

• The ability to maintain composure and offer empathetic assistance in high-pressure situations.
\n
• Proven experience with digital health record systems for efficient documentation and patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

• While not strictly necessary, a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is highly desirable.

• Experience coordinating care with other health professionals, including psychiatrists and support service providers.

Compensation and Benefits\n
