Work Environment\n

In the contemporary landscape of mental health care, our telehealth facility enables us to reach diverse populations across various regions conveniently. You will engage with clients remotely, utilizing digital tools that ensure confidentiality and connection. Monday through Friday, you’ll typically follow a schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although occasional flexibility may be necessary to address patients' needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to thoroughly evaluate clients' trauma histories, informing the development of personalized treatment plans.

• Design and implement individualized therapy programs, focusing on trauma healing and fostering resilience among clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide patients in their recovery journeys.

• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions that enable clients to process their experiences, build coping strategies, and carve paths toward recovery.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

• Provide crisis intervention as needed, attending to urgent trauma-related situations with sensitivity and expertise.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma, coping mechanisms, and available support services, empowering them toward informed healing options.

• Maintain precise and confidential client documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards in mental health practices.

• Engage actively in case consultations, team discussions, and continuous professional development aimed at enhancing clinical skills and knowledge of trauma treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center focuses on assisting individuals grappling with the aftermath of trauma. Our patient demographic is diverse, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and others who have experienced emotional distress due to traumatic events. We are particularly geared towards addressing conditions such as PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, providing a safe and affirming space for clients to explore their experiences and work toward healing.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctorate degree in areas such as social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid state license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist.

• A solid understanding of trauma disorders and a proficiency in trauma-informed therapy practices.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an empathetic and non-judgmental approach toward clients.

• The ability to maintain composure and provide support in high-stress scenarios.

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and various digital tools utilized in telehealth settings.

Preferred Experience\n

• While not mandatory, a minimum of 2 years of experience post-licensure in mental health counseling is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
