Work Environment

This position is onsite, providing care in the homes of patients across Winchester, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Beacon Health, your core responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and limitations, considering their specific medical histories.
• Developing tailored treatment plans that include a wide range of therapeutic techniques, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and the use of specialized equipment to facilitate optimal recovery.
• Tracking and meticulously documenting patient progress, treatment outcomes, and feedback to adjust therapy plans as necessary for ongoing improvement.
• Educating patients and their caregivers about rehabilitation processes, providing training on the use of assistive devices, and promoting independence in daily activities.
• Staying updated with the latest best practices in physical therapy through attendance at workshops, seminars, and continuing education.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage with a diverse patient population, ranging from children to older adults, each presenting unique challenges and rehabilitation needs. You'll work with individuals recovering from various conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological disorders, and sports-related injuries. The home care aspect allows you to build personal relationships with your patients, ensuring they receive the support they need in a comforting environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• A valid State License to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Robust organizational skills with a familiarity in using computer systems for documentation and scheduling.
• A flexible approach to practice, adapting techniques to meet patient needs.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience in the field of physical therapy is required, we encourage recent graduates with a passion for home care to apply. Previous experience in a home health setting or with rehabilitative therapies is a plus, but not mandatory. Your eagerness to learn and develop within this role will be equally valued.
