Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments utilizing evidence-based practices, guiding the development of individualized treatment plans for each client based on their unique needs.
• Deliver a wide spectrum of therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to effectively address the mental health concerns of clients.
• Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, reflecting your commitment to ethical practice and professionalism.
• Collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to optimize treatment outcomes using a holistic and integrated care approach.
• Participate in routine case consultations and peer review meetings to identify and adopt leading practices, continuously enhancing the quality of care provided to our clients.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment paradigms, and available community resources to empower them on their journey towards recovery.
• Stay abreast of the latest research in mental health and incorporate new findings into your therapeutic practice for the benefit of your clients' well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve engaging with children and their families, focusing on a diverse range of mental health issues. You will be instrumental in helping young clients who are dealing with childhood trauma, anxiety, behavioral disorders, and other significant life challenges. Your ability to connect with both children and parents will be essential as you guide them through therapeutic processes aimed at fostering resilience and emotional stability.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid license to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in the state of California.
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying solution-focused psychotherapy interventions tailored to the individual needs of clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and therapeutic alliances with clients and their families.
• Proven ability to effectively navigate complex mental health scenarios, employing problem-solving and critical thinking skills to ensure positive client outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly in a child and family setting, is preferred.
• Experience with trauma-informed care methodologies is highly valued.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient interactions and treatment plans is a plus.
