Work Environment

This role is performed entirely in a remote setting, allowing you the flexibility to create a work-life balance while delivering care through our advanced telehealth platform. You will be equipped with all necessary tools and resources for virtual sessions, including secure video conferencing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring that you can deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the psychological needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that take into account the individual developmental stages, family dynamics, and specific mental health concerns.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, employing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Family Therapy tailored to young patients.
• Deliver family therapy sessions and support caregivers, helping them establish nurturing environments that facilitate the child's emotional and psychological growth.
• Work closely with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate a comprehensive approach to care, ensuring that all aspects of a patient's needs are addressed.
• Offer crisis intervention services for young individuals experiencing immediate mental health emergencies, demonstrating a capability to manage high-stakes situations with calm and effectiveness.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their journey towards wellness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards.
• Actively participate in team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development initiatives, contributing to a culture of learning and improvement.
• Keep up to date with the latest research and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry to inform best practices in treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on young individuals, specifically children and adolescents facing mental health issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral problems. You will employ child-centered methodologies that prioritize the unique needs and perspectives of each child and their family, fostering a nurturing therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California is imperative.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a clinical mental health setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches is essential.
• Experience in delivering individual and family therapy to young clients is highly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, showcasing a compassionate, child-centered approach to therapy.
• Ability to establish rapport and build trust with children, adolescents, and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications is necessary.
• A collaborative spirit that thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment is important.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in telehealth or virtual counseling settings is a plus, understanding the unique dynamics and techniques beneficial in an online therapeutic environment.
• Background in crisis intervention or trauma-informed care would enhance the breadth of practice for this role.
• Participation in community mental health outreach initiatives is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
