Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations through engaging and empathetic preliminary interviews, effectively documenting each case from initial consultation to treatment conclusion.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations of clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being, focusing on their specific challenges and strengths.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to provide support, education, and coping strategies.
\n
• Monitor and assess client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure alignment with therapeutic goals.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers including psychiatrists, social workers, and community resources to develop integrated care strategies.
\n
• Conduct follow-ups with clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring they receive continued support and appropriate care during their recovery.

• Identify barriers to recovery and implement intervention strategies to address these challenges effectively.
\n
• Assist and educate family members and primary caregivers on managing their loved one's mental health challenges, offering guidance and resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients present with a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction disorders. The Mental Health Counselor will have the opportunity to work with individuals, couples, and families, each requiring a tailored approach to therapy. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• Active licensure in Maryland as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C), or a similar designation.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with a variety of stakeholders including clients, families, and other professionals.

• Empathy and resilience, essential for fostering supportive relationships with clients facing challenging mental health situations.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in a similar role, showcasing a history of effective counseling and treatment delivery.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, such as AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation.

• Knowledge of best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) or equivalent.

• Experience working with clients who have concurrent physical and emotional health conditions, enhancing the holistic approach to mental health care.
