You will utilize advanced electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to document your interactions, track client progress, and manage treatment plans effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to gather client histories and assess mental health statuses, documenting findings meticulously from initial consultation through to the completion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological health by administering standardized assessments and interpreting results to inform treatment strategies.
\n
• Develop and customize intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups, taking into account unique needs and background.
\n
• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based modalities and approaches appropriate to varying therapeutic needs.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment to ensure the efficacy of the intervention plans and adjust as necessary based on the ongoing assessments.
\n
• Collaborate on intervention strategies with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, ensuring a coordinated approach to care for clients experiencing co-occurring disorders.

• Identify barriers to recovery, proactively working with clients and support systems to mitigate risks and enhance outcomes.

• Provide education and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with skills to assist clients facing mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on a diverse patient population, including individuals facing various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues, and addiction disorders. You will engage with clients of all ages, ensuring culturally competent care tailored to their specific situations and backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey is a must.
\n
• Successfully completed the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Solid understanding of underlying physical and emotional health considerations, particularly relating to addiction disorders.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, complemented by strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience\n

• A proven track record of experience working in mental health counseling, particularly in community health settings.

• Familiarity with best practices disseminated by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly desirable.
