Atlas Psychological and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a vital member of our outpatient practice located in Jersey City, New Jersey, you will provide specialized mental health care tailored to individuals grappling with trauma and its effects. Your role will involve assessing, diagnosing, and treating clients, supporting them in their recovery journeys through evidence-based approaches.

Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing you to work comfortably in a flexible setting that accommodates your professional and personal life. While the primary work hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, some scheduling flexibility may be required depending on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ experiences and histories, which will inform your personalized treatment strategies.

• Craft and execute individualized treatment plans emphasizing trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping mechanisms.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to guide patients through their healing processes.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their traumatic experiences and establish effective coping strategies.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and fellow therapists to deliver a comprehensive care approach, ensuring all aspects of a patient’s mental health are addressed.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and healthy coping strategies.
\n
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation to comply with all legal and ethical standards, using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and related technology.

• Engage in case consultations and team meetings to promote shared learning and enhance treatment approaches tailored to trauma recovery.

• Remain current with ongoing research and trends in trauma-informed therapy to continuously improve patient care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on clients who are survivors of various forms of trauma, including those diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding trauma experiences, as well as a commitment to using trauma-informed practices that honor each patient’s unique journey.

Qualifications\n

• An accredited Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Current and valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) in New Jersey.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma preferred.
\n
• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and the latest trauma-informed therapeutic modalities and techniques.
\n
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach toward patients.

• Ability to stay composed and effective in high-stress environments while delivering quality care.

• Proficient in the use of EHR systems and other relevant digital tools to enhance patient engagement and treatment efficiency.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to provide cohesive patient care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
