Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to understand the unique needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders.

• Provide family therapy sessions to empower parents and guardians in creating supportive home environments.

• Coordinate care by collaborating with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring comprehensive treatment.

• Support young clients through crisis intervention techniques during emotional emergencies.

• Educate families about mental health conditions and available treatment options, as well as local community resources.

• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in team meetings and case consultations to refine care approaches and share best practices.

• Stay updated on ongoing research, therapeutic modalities, and advancements in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children and adolescents who are experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and various behavioral concerns. By focusing on this age group, you will play an essential role in mitigating the impact of these disorders during crucial developmental stages.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or related licensure in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
\n
• Strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches.
\n
• Experience in providing both individual and family therapy sessions tailored to young clients.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate and child-centered approach to therapy.
\n
• A proven ability to build rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework.

Preferred Experience\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.

• Extensive experience working in pediatric mental health settings and familiarity with therapeutic techniques specific to children and adolescents.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000.
