Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored specifically for older adults, ensuring every patient's unique circumstances are considered.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address cognitive changes, physical health, and social dynamics.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which may include one-on-one therapy, family sessions, and holistic approaches focused on geriatric psychiatric conditions.
• Engage in crisis intervention efforts to support elderly patients during mental health emergencies, demonstrating a calm and proactive approach.
• Educate patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and relevant community resources to empower them in their mental health journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, leveraging our electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate actively in professional development programs, including staying updated on current research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be the geriatric population, addressing common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties faced by older adults. You will play a crucial role in improving their quality of life through specialized mental health care and support, directly impacting their emotional and mental wellness.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with elderly patients and their families.
• Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling preferred, particularly within geriatric settings.
• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy to older adults, showcasing your ability to create rapport and trust.
• Knowledge of community resources relevant to elder care is advantageous, enhancing your ability to support our clients effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

This position comes with a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 per year.
