Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' histories, determining their unique treatment needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific trauma recovery goals, integrating a variety of therapeutic approaches.

• Utilize evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to deliver effective interventions.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that encourage patients to process their experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and support peer interaction.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and manage treatment progress effectively.

• Respond to crisis situations, offering immediate therapeutic support and intervention during trauma-related emergencies.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and recovery strategies, ensuring they have access to vital resources.

• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

• Engage in continuous professional development through participation in case consultations and team meetings focused on trauma-informed practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position involves working with a diverse client base, primarily individuals who have experienced trauma, including adults and adolescents diagnosed with PTSD, complex trauma, and related mental health conditions. Our counselors work to establish trust and safety to create an effective therapeutic alliance, necessary for clients to feel empowered on their path to recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting, focusing on trauma-informed care.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in implementing trauma-focused therapies.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to client interactions.

• The ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress therapeutic situations.

• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with digital communication tools.

• Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience\n

While 2 years of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with prior experience in trauma-focused therapies and group facilitation will be given preference. Familiarity with community resources and referral networks for trauma survivors is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
