Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments to gather detailed information about clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for individuals, couples, families, and group therapy settings.
• Facilitate therapy sessions, focusing on individual and group interventions aimed at promoting healing and positive outcomes.
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting intervention strategies as needed to ensure effective care.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create integrated care plans.
• Document all case interactions meticulously, from initial consultations through the completion of treatment, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Provide support to families and caregivers, offering strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.
• Stay abreast of new developments in mental health therapy and integrate innovative practices into your counseling sessions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse population, addressing a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and more. Your role will involve understanding the unique backgrounds and challenges faced by clients in the Plano area, allowing you to provide tailored support that resonates with their experiences.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in Texas is essential.
• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) is mandatory.
• Demonstrable experience as a mental health counselor is needed to ensure effective treatment delivery.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred for efficient documentation and workflow.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• A deep understanding of the medications prescribed for mental health conditions and their potential side effects.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to form supportive relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Compensation and Benefits
