Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through detailed interviews to assess clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological status.

• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the needs of individuals, couples, families, or groups.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote personal growth and coping strategies.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, overseeing their journey from initial consultation to successful recovery.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive intervention strategies.

• Maintain active communication with other healthcare professionals regarding clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care.

• Proactively identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to overcome them, while supporting other caregivers and family members.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work with a diverse clientele facing a wide range of mental health challenges. These may include anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction disorders, and more. Our clients are often referred to us by local health professionals, and you will be instrumental in guiding them through their healing process. By establishing trust and rapport with clients, you will empower them to make meaningful changes in their lives, ultimately contributing to improved mental health outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to manage client information and communication.

• Strong understanding of various mental health conditions and treatment methodologies.
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of experience as a mental health counselor or in a related field.

• Experience addressing addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.

• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• An understanding of psychotropic medications and their impact on client treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits\n
