This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while still being an integral part of our supportive professional community. The flexibility of telehealth greatly enhances our ability to provide timely mental health services to a variety of patients across San Francisco, California, and beyond. Working hours are typically Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient’s trauma history, allowing for the identification of effective treatment strategies.

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique recovery needs of each patient, focusing on trauma recovery and resilience-building.

• Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing and empowerment.

• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and other health professionals, ensuring an integrated approach to patient care that addresses both mental health and medical needs.

• Providing crucial crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating quick responsiveness and support skills.

• Continuously educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources to enhance their knowledge and engagement in the treatment process.

• Maintaining meticulous and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Participating in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities, with a continual focus on trauma-informed care practices.

• Staying informed about the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to promote effective treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily involves working with adults and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma. You will support individuals with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, and guide them through their recovery journey. This patient population often presents unique challenges, requiring sensitivity, understanding, and a tailored approach to therapy.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
\n
• Strong foundation in trauma-informed care practices, with a preference for those possessing at least 2 years of post-licensure experience.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and non-judgmental approach to patient interactions.
\n
• Strong analytical skills, paired with proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.

• A commitment to collaborative teamwork and a holistic approach to patient wellbeing.

Preferred Experience\n

While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, those with experience in trauma-focused therapies and interventions, especially EMDR and TF-CBT, will be given preference. Familiarity with crisis management and intervention strategies is also beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n
