Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth initial assessments to evaluate the mental, behavioral, and emotional health of clients, ensuring accurate documentation from the first consultation to discharge.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques suitable for diverse client needs.

The clients served by West Hills Behavioral Health Center represent a diverse demographic ranging from adolescents to adults dealing with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. As a counselor, you will be instrumental in helping these individuals navigate their challenges, promoting resilience and emotional well-being through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in Massachusetts.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor is essential, showcasing a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred to efficiently manage clinical documentation and client records.

• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards.

• Strong understanding of the interplay between mental and physical healthcare, including knowledge of the effects of psychotropic medications.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with populations affected by co-occurring disorders or addiction issues.

Compensation and Benefits\n
