Experienced Orthopedic Physical Therapist - Full-Time Onsite

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist position is a full-time, onsite role where you will interact with colleagues in a professional and supportive atmosphere. Our team is comprised of experienced therapists and rehabilitation specialists who foster a culture of teamwork, continuous learning, and professional development. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed initial and ongoing assessments of patient mobility, strength, and functionality in accordance with established best practices and state regulations.
• Set realistic improvement goals tailored to each patient's abilities, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Develop and implement individualized Treatment Plans that incorporate both short-term and long-term objectives while coordinating with multidisciplinary staff.
• Document patient progress scrupulously in line with medical documentation standards and facility protocols, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Engage in continuous professional education, attending workshops and reviewing relevant literature to stay up-to-date with industry innovations.
• Support fellow team members in creating an organized and effective therapeutic environment conducive to patient recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and age-related conditions. This includes tailoring therapy sessions to accommodate varying age groups and physical capabilities, fostering an understanding of the unique challenges faced by each individual. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in motivating patients to engage fully in their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.
• An active Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) with AED.
• A minimum of two years of experience working as a physical therapist, specifically focusing on orthopedic care.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patient motivation, alongside an understanding of safe practice when pushing patients to expand their limits.
• Proficient in the use of physical therapy equipment and a solid understanding of maintenance procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a rehabilitation center or similar setting focused on orthopedic patients.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant documentation tools.
• Participation in continuing education courses specifically targeting advanced rehabilitation techniques.

Compensation and Benefits
