Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' experiences and create appropriate treatment strategies.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at fostering trauma recovery and resilience in our clients.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to effectively address trauma-related symptoms.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process trauma, cultivate coping strategies, and promote mental well-being.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic care for our patients.

• Provide crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies and support clients through their most challenging times.

• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources to foster a greater understanding of trauma recovery.

• Maintain precise, confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

At Family Matters, your work primarily revolves around supporting individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including veterans, survivors of domestic violence, and refugees. Clients may present with complex trauma histories, PTSD, and other related conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding these individuals on their journey toward healing and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure in the state of Florida as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, ideally with a focus on trauma therapy.

• Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and therapeutic modalities centered on trauma-informed treatment.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, expressing empathy and understanding in every patient interaction.

• Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress situations while making swift assessments and interventions.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other necessary technology to maintain organized documentation and communication.

• An eagerness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years post-licensure experience is required, we strongly prefer candidates who have specialized training in trauma-focused therapies. Experience in providing crisis intervention and familiarity with community resources for trauma victims will be incredibly beneficial.
