The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is seeking a dedicated and empathic Mental Health Counselor to fill a full-time role focused on trauma recovery. Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, with occasional requirements to meet clients at our outpatient office. Our work setting is designed to foster collaboration and support among team members while offering flexibility to accommodate the diverse needs of our patients. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although some flexibility may be necessary to provide optimal care for our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough, trauma-informed evaluations to assess clients’ histories and determine effective treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment programs that center on trauma healing, resilience, and coping strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate client recovery.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients in processing traumatic experiences and honing their coping skills.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention counseling in trauma-related emergencies, maintaining a calm and supportive presence.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and effective coping strategies to promote understanding and healing.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for confidentiality and accuracy.

• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in trauma care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work at the Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center will primarily focus on clients who have experienced trauma, including individuals with PTSD, complex trauma, and those who may be dealing with the psychological impacts of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Your role will be crucial in providing empathetic support and expert guidance as clients navigate their unique healing journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• A valid and current state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or psychologist.

• Expertise in trauma-informed practices and therapeutic interventions tailored to trauma-related disorders.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment.

• Ability to remain composed and compassionate in high-stress or crisis situations.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in providing trauma-focused therapy and interventions is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
