Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the frequency, intensity, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms.
• Individualized Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their unique goals, preferences, and circumstances.
• Evidence-Based Interventions: Implement and adapt various evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to individual client needs.
• Client Education: Provide clients and their families with education about mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly track and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other medical professionals for an integrated care approach, discussing treatment strategies and client needs.
• Ongoing Research: Stay informed about the latest research in mood disorder treatments to continually enhance therapeutic methods and approaches.
• Confidential Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Calm Quest Wellness Clinic, you will primarily work with clients facing a variety of mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Your ability to connect with individuals experiencing these challenges—often within vulnerable populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse—will be crucial in promoting their mental wellness and resilience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills that foster trust and rapport with clients.
• Empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental approach toward clients' unique experiences and challenges.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while balancing client therapy and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly in outpatient services, is highly desirable.
