Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs during initial consultations to inform the development of personalized treatment plans that cater to individual circumstances.
• Provide evidence-based therapy services, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other therapeutic approaches, delivered securely through video conferencing software.
• Work closely with clients to establish measurable therapeutic goals, and offer regular evaluations of progress throughout their treatment journey.
• Document therapy sessions meticulously, ensuring accurate records of client interactions and improvements, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Engage in peer consultation and professional development opportunities to enhance your therapeutic practices and stay current with mental health trends.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role at Pleasant Valley Psychological Center will place you at the forefront of mental health care for clients from various backgrounds, potentially including adolescents, adults, and couples. The virtual nature of our services enables us to reach those who might have barriers to accessing traditional in-person therapy, including geographical constraints or mobility issues. You will be equipped to address a wide range of mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to relationship issues and trauma recovery.

Qualifications

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with clients in a remote setting and deliver compassionate care.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, maintain organizational systems for documentation, and adhere to treatment delivery timelines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience utilizing telehealth solutions to provide therapy is highly preferred, including familiarity with platforms like Zoom for Healthcare or similar tools.
• Previous experience in a remote counseling role, particularly with diverse populations, enhances your capability to connect with clients from different walks of life.
