Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and utilize standardized screening tools to evaluate patients’ mental health needs.
• Gather critical information through mental status exams, assessments of functional impairments, and comprehensive histories related to behavioral health, substance use, and trauma.
• Collaborate with patients to develop and revise individualized treatment plans that address their unique mental health symptoms and challenges.
• Utilize trauma-informed care principles and culturally competent methodologies throughout the therapeutic process to build trust and rapport.
• Provide psycho-education to clients and their families, equipping them with the knowledge and tools necessary for effective coping strategies.
• Make essential referrals to community resources as needed, ensuring appropriate care coordination to enhance treatment effectiveness.
• Participate in regular consultations with the multidisciplinary team to discuss complex cases, review patient progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your caseload will encompass a diverse demographic, including children, adolescents, and adults—each presenting varied mental health challenges rooted in unique cultural backgrounds and life experiences. This role is particularly important as you will assist clients in navigating treatment barriers while advocating for their access to care and resources. The focus on trauma-informed care ensures that interactions are grounded in sensitivity and understanding of patients’ experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, with current licensure as LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health therapy, demonstrating a solid foundation in counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to document clinical interactions accurately and manage a diverse caseload efficiently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective patient engagement and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to adhering to established protocols, policies, and ethical standards in mental health practice.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience with crisis intervention and counseling in both outpatient settings and with diverse family structures.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems to efficiently document patient interactions and treatment plans.
• Experience working collaboratively with community resources to enhance patient care and support.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $120,000 to $130,000, commensurate with energy and experience.
