Key Responsibilities

• Conduct personalized assessment sessions leading to effective individual, couple, family, and group therapy, ensuring a tailored approach to each client's unique needs.
• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address specific client goals, using evidence-based practices and therapeutic methodologies.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance focused on helping clients navigate emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, employing techniques to foster resilience and personal growth.
• Engage in continuous collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to coordinate optimal care.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, documenting client progress and treatment outcomes in line with professional standards and best practices.
• Stay informed of the latest research, ethical standards, and trends in the counseling field through professional development resources and participation in training workshops.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Santa Monica Behavioral Health Center serves a diverse clientele from various backgrounds and age groups. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, you will work closely with individuals experiencing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. Your ability to establish trust and rapport will be essential in supporting these clients on their journey to improved mental health and well-being.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field is required.
• Must hold an active and valid license as a Professional Counselor in the State of Texas.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing outpatient counseling services is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with active listening abilities to engage effectively with clients.
• Capacity to foster a therapeutic environment characterized by trust, respect, and open communication.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions for complex client issues.
• A commitment to upholding ethical standards and demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in specific therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-informed care is advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documenting patient interactions and treatment plans.
• Engagement in community outreach or advocacy efforts related to mental health is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
